Karalynn Fletcher, Project Manager

With more than 14 years experience in hospitality design, Kara Fletcher has gained expertise in virtually every area of the design process. As Project Manager for Vision Design, Kara is responsible for overseeing the design implementation and management of all project documents issued to clients as well as daily communications. “My favorite part of designing a hotel is the guest rooms,” Kara says, “creating details to make the space unique.”

After earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Interior Design from the University of North Texas, Kara began her career at Vision Design and became a Registered Interior Designer in 2002. She has worked for Vision for a total of eight years, as well as further expanding her portfolio and experience at other hospitality design firms. Kara’s cumulative experience also includes serving as a Team Leader, Senior Interior Designer, and Director of Interior Design. Now, however, Kara says she is “glad to be back home!”

She has provided project and design team management while serving as the primary project contact and lead designer and supervised her team from contract through administration. She has provided team mentorship and guidance and final review of construction documents, primarily FF&E specifications. Kara has acquired expert knowledge of multiple brand standards which include domestic and international hotel groups such as Marriott, Starwood, Hilton, Hyatt, InterContinental, Sofitel, Taj Hotels, Langham, and Movenpick.

Exemplary projects on which Kara has worked at Vision Design include: Hilton N’Djamena, Chad, Africa; Caneel Bay Hotel, St. John, USVI; Windsor Court Hotel, New Orleans and 51 Buckingham Gate, London, England.

Kara loves to travel, especially internationally, and wandering around a new city. Her creativity extends to furniture as she likes “to find old, distressed furniture pieces to recondition and repurpose them, giving them a new life.”
